There are thousands of scholarships out there. Below you will find many scholarships, most with general eligibility requirements. My goal is to share some lesser-known scholarships with my readers every Saturday.

Description: Applicant must be a dependent child of a full-time employee in the financial services industry. Employee must be presently employed with five years of experience OR no longer employed in the field but had ten years of experience which ended no longer than five years prior to scholarship. Scholarship is open to high school seniors who are enrolling as a full-time first-year student in pursuit of a four-year bachelor’s degree at an accredited college or university in the United States. Applicant must have at least a 3.5 GPA, demonstrate financial need, and be a U.S. citizen or legal resident.

Jeannette Rankin Foundation Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to low-income women who are 35 or older and a U.S. citizen or permanent resident. Applicant must be pursuing a technical or vocational education, an associate’s degree, or a first bachelor’s degree.

Kennedy-King Memorial Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students who will transfer in the fall or spring following the award from a Contra Costa County (California) college to junior standing at a four-year accredited institution. Applicant must belong to a minority group under-represented in the California College and University system (African-American, Americans (North, Central, or South) derived from Spanish-speaking cultures, Native American, or Pacific Islander.

Innovation in Education Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to students currently enrolled in high school or college within the United States with at least 3.0 GPA. Applicant must be a citizen of, permanent resident, or hold a valid student visa in the United States or Canada. Applicant must have designed an innovative project that makes a difference in the lives of others and submit an essay describing the goal of the particular project and provide supporting documentation.

Live Deliberately Essay Contest

Description: Contest is open to youth ages 14-18 around the globe. Applicant must submit an essay or visual essay on a topic related to a quotation by Henry David Thoreau.

SPJ High School Essay Contest

Description: Contest is open to students enrolled in grades 9-12 in U.S. public, private, and home schools within the United States. Applicant must submit an essay on the topic, “While consumers are drawn toward tweets and sound bites, how can journalists tell more of the story without losing reader’ interest?”

Vegetarian Resource Group Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to U.S. high school seniors graduating in the spring of 2023. Applicant must be a vegetarian and have promoted vegetarianism in their school and/or community.

Community Foundation for the Ohio Valley Scholarship

Description: Scholarships are open to residents of the counties of Hancock, Brooke, Ohio, Marshall, Tyler and Wetzel in West Virginia and Jefferson and Belmont in Ohio. The majority of the scholarships are open to high school seniors, but there are some open to current college students and non-traditional students. DCHA Higher Education Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to members of DCHA, or the sons, daughters or legal dependents of a DCHA members. Description: Scholarship is open to students currently enrolled in a trade school, college or university program that is directly related to a construction career. This includes skill trades, engineering, or construction management. Applicant must live in the Pennsylvania counties of Lancaster, Franklin, Adams York, Dauphin, Berks, Cumberland, Lebanon, Perry, or Juniata.

AMS Minority Scholarships

Description: Scholarship is open to minority students who will be entering their freshman year of college in the fall of 2023 and are planning to pursue careers in the atmospheric or related oceanic and hydrologic sciences.

Bart Kamen Memorial FIRST Scholarship

Closing Date: February 24, 2023
Description: Scholarship is open to graduating high school seniors who have been accepted to, or applied for admission, to an eligible undergraduate program, which means a full-time program in Biomedical Engineering, pre-medical studies, or a program that allows students to pursue a chosen major while simultaneously completing a subset of medical school prep courses. Applicant must have participated as a team member for a minimum of one year on a FIRST LEGO League, FIRST Tech Challenge, or FIRST Robotics Competition team.

Diamond State Scholarship

Description: Scholarship is open to high school seniors who rank in the upper quarter of their class and who are legal residents of Delaware. Applicant must be enrolling as a full-time student in a degree program at a nonprofit, regionally accredited institution.

Description: Scholarships is open to graduating high school seniors and current undergraduate students who have been diagnosed with a bleeding disorder or related to someone with a bleeding disorder. PG&E Scholarships

Description: Scholarships are open to high school seniors and current undergraduate students whose primary residence is a PG&E customer in California at the time of application. Applicant must be enrolled full-time at a four-year college or university in California.

Richard and Louise Varco Scholarship

Amount: Up to $5,000

Description: Scholarship is open to students who plan to enroll in full-time undergraduate, graduate or professional level study at an accredited two-year or four-year college, university, or vocational-technical school in Minnesota for the entire 2023-2024 academic year. Applicant must have at least a 2.5 GPA OR be a worker displaced under extraordinary circumstances.

RMEL Foundation Scholarships

Description: Scholarships are open to graduating high school seniors and current undergraduate students who live in a service areas of a RMEL member company (308 RMEL member companies across 38 states – see website for list of utility company members). Applicant must be planning or currently studying in engineering, business, information systems, plant, line or distribution technology, line worker, or other curriculum related to the electric energy industry.

San Antonio Area Foundation Scholarships – Common Application
